This month’s cover comes to us from the legendary Bob Budiansky! It features a giant Ick-Yak battling the Decepticon Firecons while the Autobot Jumpstarter pair of Top Spin and Twin Twist run for cover. It’s an epic scene to be sure, and one that Mr. Budiansky masterfully crafted for us all to enjoy.

While returning home with the recently rediscovered Autobot Matrix of Leadership, Kup and his crew stop for repairs on the planet of Beta IV; home to the giant Ick-Yaks. But unknown to Kup, Skyquake and his band of Decepticon plunderers have stalked the Autobots from deep space. Will Skyquake’s mad drive to acquire the Autobot Matrix succeed? Or will the larger than life Ick-Yaks prove too much for the overconfident Decepticons to handle?

Bob Budiansky has done one previous cover for Transformers: REANIMATED. That was the cover for issue 28: RUN, PLODD… RUN Today’s cover was inspired by Herb Trimpe’s cover for Godzilla Issue 1.

Written by Greig Tansley from the Unfunny Nerd Tangent podcast and Youseph (Yoshi) Tanha from the YoshiCast, this G1 adventure follows in the Transformers: ReAnimated tradition of bridging the gap between the cartoon’s second season and the 1986 Movie that defined the childhood of millions.
