Today is New Comic Book Day! Get our FREE and new issue of Transformers: REANIMATED! With a SHOCKING new cover by Casey Coller and John-Paul Bove, inspired by Tyler Kirkham’s and Tomeu Morey’s Deathstroke 39 cover.

With Issue 43, Insecticons Deluxe Part 1, We return to Earth to find out what has become of the Decepticons’ mighty Insecticons.

Left behind on Earth, the once-vicious Insecticons find themselves on the losing end of multiple battles with the heroic Autobots. Fed up with defeat, Bombshell devises a plan to build new, augmented Insecticon clones with a little help from stolen Autobot power cogs. Will Bombshell’s plan succeed in acquiring the Autobot cogs needed to bring his deluxe creations to life? Or will the Autobots be able to squish the Insecticons’ plans before things swarm out of control?

This was a fun script to write because we wanted to answer a simple question. What would the Insecticons do with no help? What lengths would they go to ensure their survival? The answer is, whatever it takes! Then we asked ourselves how would we visualize this on the cover? Our first thoughts were of Frankenstein’s laboratory. But we wanted something a little different. A little more modern. Eventually, we discovered Tyler Kirkham’s and Tomeu Morey’s Deathstroke 39 cover. It has the exact sinister feel we were going for. And who better to homage this cover with Transformers? The marvelous Transformers comic book artists Casey Coller and John-Paul Bove of course!

Written by Greig Tansley from the Unfunny Nerd Tangent podcast and Youseph (Yoshi) Tanha from the YoshiCast, this G1 adventure follows in the Transformers: ReAnimated tradition of bridging the gap between the cartoon’s second season and the 1986 Movie that defined the childhood of millions, worldwide.

So, if you *did* like issue 43: Insecticons Deluxe Part 1, then please consider contacting SKYBOUND Entertainment (Via E-mail or Twitter) and let them know you would have liked to see Transformers: REANIMATED as an ongoing comic book series written by Yoshi and Greig.
