Issue 70 of Transformers: REANIMATED is here, and it’s a time-warping, action packed thrill ride that puts the spotlight on a true fan favorite, Scrounge! That’s right, the little guy with the special fingers is back, and this time, he’s up against the most dangerous enemy the Autobots have ever faced.
In the aftermath of Powerglide’s adventure from the Lucky 13 storyline, Future Shock picks up the pieces, and then blasts them across the moon, when Jhiaxus, displaced from a dark and twisted future, arrives in the present! With the cunning Banzai-Tron at his side, Jhiaxus sets his sights on Moonbase 2, and the destruction is swift and brutal.
Autobot defenses crumble. Hope fades. But one Autobot refuses to give up: Scrounge.
A Cover Worthy of a Timequake
This month’s explosive cover comes from the dynamic duo of Transformers artists Casey Coller and John-Paul Bove! Their detail-rich illustration brings Scrounge to life like never before. Heroic, desparate, and unforgettable. The artwork draws inspiration from Steve Vance’s layout and Bill Morrison’s iconic cover to Simpsons Comics #2, adding a clever homage to a classic while pushing REANIMATED’s visual storytelling to new heights.
Casey and JP are no strangers to REANIMATED, having previously teamed up on our triple-threat connected covers for issues 57, 58 and 59. We’re thrilled to have them back for this pivotal moment in Scrounge’s journey.
Written by Greig Tansley from the Unfunny Nerd Tangent podcast and Youseph (Yoshi) Tanha from the YoshiCast, this G1 adventure follows in the Transformers: ReAnimated tradition of bridging the gap between the cartoon’s second season and the 1986 Movie that defined the childhood of millions.
