One of the worst days of the year to be on the internet has to April 1st: April Fools Day. I hate it. You can’t trust anything you read online and I myself have been the recipient of too many online falsehoods and pranks over the years. The Transformers: REANIMATED won’t do that to you.
Today is the first Wednesday of the month. And like every first Wednesday of the month we offer a brand new issue of The Transformers: REANIMATED for you to consume. But we had to have fun with it. It is still April 1st after all.
A crossover with the GoBots that would make any Rock Lord proud. And this isn’t just a random crossover event. Nope. Greig and I have been eluding to this since issue 67: Pit of Destruction.

After decrypting vital intel from Punch, Ultra Magnus is ready to settle an old score. Joined by Elita-One and her team, the Autobots race to the distant world of Hedon to stop the Matrix of Leadership from falling into the hands of the Renegades! Because Cy-Kill, Cop-Tur, and Crasher will stop at nothing to seize the Matrix, and use its power to restore their dying world of Gobotron! Now the Renegades and the Autobots collide in a battle that will shake the stars!
Issue 81‘s page-ripping cover was made reality by the dynamite team of comic book artists, Casey Coller and John-Paul Bove – two seasoned artists who know how to bring life to our favorite mechanical characters.
The cover for issue 81 is inspired by the Bob Layton and Jackson Guice‘s cover for Marvel Age 33.
Written by Greig Tansley from the Unfunny Nerd Tangent podcast and Youseph (Yoshi) Tanha from the YoshiCast, this G1-style adventure continues the REANIMATED mission:
bridging the gap between Season Two of the cartoon and the 1986 Transformers Movie that defined a generation of millions.
